Optional family feature · Premium

A simpler phone for someone you care about.

Guardian Mode keeps selected apps within easy reach and puts limits on the rest.

For a child: limits with optional allowances.

Choose their home apps and daily allowances. They can ask for extra time by text, call or QR, and you decide how much to allow.

For an older relative: simplicity and support.

Keep essential apps easy to find. A linked helper can provide an unlock code over a call when help is needed.

Set up the allowed apps, helper access and PIN together. See setup guidance before handing over the phone.

A few things worth knowing.

What is 3Taps?

3Taps is a minimalist launcher (home screen) for Android that helps you reduce screen time. The core routine is simple: unlock, open the one app you need, and tap ✓ Done to close it and lock the phone.

Can I try 3Taps now?

The free beta opens on Google Play soon. Join the waitlist and you'll get an email with the install link.

How is 3Taps different from Android Digital Wellbeing?

Digital Wellbeing counts your screen time. 3Taps builds better habits into the home screen itself: a quiet text-only home screen, a short breathing pause before the apps you limit, quiet notifications, and a ✓ Done button that gives each visit an ending.

Can 3Taps stop distracting notifications?

Yes. Focus turns on Do Not Disturb until your break. Quiet notifications lets only the apps you choose notify you, such as Phone, Messages and your home-screen apps. Everything else waits on your phone and arrives together at times you pick.

What does Free include?

The whole routine: the home screen, mindful pauses, timed sessions, focus with Do Not Disturb and sounds, quiet notifications, notes and voice notes, a year of progress, and ✓ Done, which goes home and locks. Premium lets you choose what ✓ Done does, and adds Guardian Mode, Strict Mode and schedules.

Can I use 3Taps for a child or an elderly parent?

Yes, with Guardian Mode (Premium). Their home screen keeps Phone, Messages and the apps you choose easy to reach, with daily time limits for others. They can ask for more time by text, call or QR, and you choose how much to allow. Set it up together and check the setup guidance before handing over the phone.

Why does 3Taps need the Accessibility permission?

Only to show the floating ✓ Done button, pause the apps you limit and close apps when you're done. 3Taps never reads your messages or what's inside your apps. Notification access is separate and optional: it's used only for Quiet notifications, and held notifications stay on your phone for up to two days.

Does 3Taps collect my data?

No. There's no 3Taps account, no ads and no tracking. Your history and notes stay on your phone unless you choose to send a note to a service you connect.

Can I return to my previous home screen?

Yes, anytime: Android Settings › Apps › Default apps › Home app. If Strict Mode or screen-off settings are on, the support page shows how to switch them off first.

Which phones does 3Taps work on?

Android phones running Android 8 or later. 3Taps isn't available on iPhone.
